I was reading...I'm not sure whether I should call it a novel or a memoir. Its quite an interesting account of Malaysia as it evolves to a nation. The writer a Malaysian and a Malay but he would like to consider himself a true Malaysian.... Open and liberal without the necessity of being attached to the do's and don'ts of the religion. Anything that is near to practicing the shariah he would consider as restrictive or old fashioned or even fundamental. He considered any policy or anything that is Islamic to be retrogressing and moving backwards and not good for the multicultural nation. According to him Malaysia would not be a truly Malaysian nation that is free if the government failed to follow the evolution towards modernity and if we wanted to progress..
May Allah give him guidance...
