SAD TO KNOW

How intolerant can one get? Does freedom of expression, association and religion not applicable when it comes to Islam and Muslims? While preaching to other nations on the right of minorities, they themselves trample the Muslim minorities in their own nations under all kinds of pretext.

Today to be a European surely cannot be taken to mean you must be a Caucasian, Christians, Jews or Atheists. Muslims who had contributed to the economy and wellbeing of European nations formed part of their own society whose right should not be disregarded. It is strange France began banning of the head scarf worn by Muslim women. The Sikhs are allowed to wear their turbans. The basis should be whether one is acting against the law of the adopted country or in many cases now a country of their births. Why can’t they ban people who are scantily dressed from walking the streets of Paris? It is not done because it is the right of every individual to wear what he/she likes and to do so could be against human rights. Using the same logic it should be construed as discriminatory if a non halal Restaurant did not sell halal food.

It is quite mind boggling when Kosher Restaurants had been in existence for as long as I can remember no one made an issue out of it. Suddenly offering halal food becomes discriminatory. I agree it would be discriminatory if it does not allow non Muslims to eat in their Restaurant. They are not stopping non Muslims to eat in Halal Restaurants. Why the fuss! Many European countries are putting on blinkers on Muslims. Until and unless they accept the diversity that exists within their societies the widening gap between Muslims and non Muslims cannot be overcome. Europe has to learn with knowledge and understanding that Europe no longer composes of one ethnic group or religions. It is a multi-cultural, multi-religious and multi-ethnic society. Why was there no objection to the establishment of sharia compliance banks and facilities? Tolerance can only thrive on understanding and goodwill amongst the different communities that can call themselves European. France should wake up to this reality if it were to live in peace and harmony with the rest of the Muslim world.
